A 36-year-old man presented with a 2-month history of dizziness brought on with bending. He described the sensation of the room spinning around. The episodes were brief and lasted a few seconds. He denied any other symptoms. There was no history of trauma or other precipitating event. His neurological examination showed no motor, sensory, speech, visual field or cognitive deficit. Cranial nerves and cerebellar function were intact. There was no gaze deviation or nystagmus present. Orthostatic vital signs were negative.
