The authors read with great interest the article by Okechukwu, which outlined the physiological benefits of different types of exercise in the management of patients with cancer.1 The earlier detection of malignancy and increasing efficacy of treatment results in a growing population who would benefit from appropriate exercise prescription. The overwhelming evidence suggests that a combination of aerobic exercise, resistance training and flexibility regimens improve functional capacity, quality of life, mental health and can mitigate side effects of pharmacological treatments.2
