A 43-year-old woman presented with facial hyperpigmentation for the past 1 week. She had been hospitalised a month back with high-grade fever, headache, severe arthralgia and generalised morbiliform rash; IgM antibody test for chikungunya virus by ELISA was found positive. Following subsidence of fever, pigmentation appeared on the nose which progressively darkened over the next few days. There was no history of any preceding local dermatoses or relevant drug intake.
