Propranolol in hypertension
Abstract
Twenty-four hypertensive patients, eleven of whom had angina pectoris as well, have been treated with propranolol in doses up to 400 mg daily. The thirteen patients without angina received methyldopa 2 g daily in addition to propranolol. A significant reduction of systolic and diastolic blood pressure was found in both groups.
Results from other authors are discussed.
