Subhyaloid haemorrhage (SHH) defined as collection of blood between the posterior hyaloid (vitreous) and retina occurs with many conditions including valsalva retinopathy. Valsalva retinopathy is caused by valsalva manoeuvres causing sudden increase in intraocular venous pressure and intraocular bleeding.
