A case of fulminating deep venous thrombosis secondary to
invasion of the inferior vena cava is described in a 45 year old man
presenting with a germ cell tumour. Despite aggressive supportive care
and emergency chemotherapy his late presentation caused his death. The
case highlights the necessity for increased public education of the
attendant risks in delayed presentation with a testicular lump.
